| "OLD BILL" WOOD CARVING
carved in 45mm thick oak 33 x 21 cm and inscribeed:
"To Michael with regards
THE HALF MOON"
Provenance: This item has been in my family for at least 50 years. I believe that the Michaele referred to was Michael McNeile the author and son of 'Sapper' (Mc H. C. Neile) famous author of the Bulldog Drummond stories.
The plaque is carved from a single piece of 45mm thick oak. The tankard in Old Bill's hand is painted on a separate piece of attached wood. It is in good condition with the pattnea of age and the signs of having hung in a pub for some time.
